Arise, Ballroom revue

Programmed as part of the seventh Séquence Danse Paris festival and the fifth edition of Monuments en mouvement, Arise offers, as the first event does, a choreographic universe that is “off the beaten track” and creates a dialogue between heritage and performance. It is indeed under the vaults of the Sainte-Chapelle in Paris that the Ben Aïm brothers have created this astonishing “danced and musical” trio, performed with the complicity of Louis Gillard to music performed live by the composer Piers Faccini. Moving from the immobility of the recumbent to an almost religious trance, the three performers inhabit the nave in long traverses interspersed with hypnotic solos and duets. Each of their movements resonates with the sensitive memory of the place and awakens centuries of sacred art.
