Christian and François Ben Aïm’s “ Tender Anger ”: spirals of spirited hand-to-hand combat

Are the Ben Aïm brothers angry? More like energetic and facetious, in this piece for a dozen performers.

They brought joy to the entire audience at the inauguration of the Suresnes Cités Danse Festival in mid-January. Brothers Christian and François Ben Aïm, dancers and choreographers allied since the dawn of the 2000s, presented their latest creation, Tender Anger, as a new impetus. At last, they dared to explore group and ensemble dance, with their ten dancers invading the stage in a frank and energetic manner. And there’s no shortage of humor – a rare quality in contemporary dance.
