JESTS, la terrasse

JESTS, la terrasse

A little swirling, a little unstable, the dance of Facéties surprises the eye and makes us smile. Another mischievous trick by Christian and François Ben Aïm… This new creation shows the evolution of a choreographic style that has gone, in twenty years, from an intense, earthy physicality, to a more aerial, delicate deployment teeming with small details. Facéties unveils a world where six dancers seem to find their place as best they can, with a relative sense of control. But let’s not be mistaken: this gesture, where movement crosses bodies as if by accident, seizes beings as if by inattention and surprises the dancer with each step, requires its share of virtuosity. Here we are faced with astonishing states of the body, which shake up the norms of the dancing body and provoke delicious twists and turns, in a shift towards a leaping burlesque and a joyful poetics.
